Day One - I Don’t Know What Comes Next

Today is my first day after leaving Iran.

I’m sitting here, in a new country, with a suitcase, a lot of thoughts… and honestly, no clear idea of what comes next.

Everything feels new. And uncertain.

But this didn’t start today.

A few months ago, I was working in a software company in Iran. I had just finished a one-year product management program, and I was managing multiple projects at the same time. Different clients, different challenges it was intense, but I was learning a lot.

Still, something didn’t feel complete.

I didn’t just want to manage products. I wanted to build something of my own.

So I started working on a startup idea.

It was inspired by platforms like LinkedIn Learning, but I wanted to do it differently. I wanted learning to be practical. Real. Personalized.

Not just watching videos but doing real projects.

We even started building it. With the support of the company, we launched a simple landing page while still figuring things out.

And then something surprising happened.

People started reaching out.

Calls. Messages. Interest.

It felt real.

For a moment, I thought this might actually work.

But at the same time, everything around me was changing.

The situation in Iran became unstable. The internet got restricted. Everything started slowing down… or even stopping.

And I found myself in a position where I had to decide.

Do I stay and try to push through all of this?

Or do I leave and take a risk?

I didn’t have a clear plan.

I only applied to one university.

Just one.

And now I’m here.

In Cyprus.

Starting a Master’s in Software Engineering.

New country.
New environment.
No guarantees.

I don’t know what will happen next.

But I know one thing

I didn’t want to stay in the same place and wonder “what if?”

So this is day one.
